Home Depot, Hemet, Ca

We're back in the Home Depot, finally.  It was quite a trip, took the better part of a day.  We woke up to the sound of about 20 zombies pounding on the truck door, I guess I was wrong about being hidden.  I ran over a few of them.  The sky is really smoky now, a lot of fires must be burning.  Thank God the Home Depot is still secure, it looks like we'll be riding out the rest of this thing here.
We have everything we need, plenty of water, food stored until the crops can be ready.  Me and Britt are rotating watches.  We've also painted “Alive inside, Help, 8/8/09,” it's big enough so that any helicopter or plane can see it.  Putting the date was Britt's idea, she said that way they'll know that it's current.  They'll know we're in here.  The debris pile in front of the hole where the door was is still holding nicely.  I think I may put some bricks in front of it to create a more permanent solution.
My cell phone hasn't been working for a while, I guess the tower is down or something.  Either way, it's completely useless.  The radio is saying that Riverside has been secured and that the regular army has been deployed.  Apparently they're supposed to be moving into our area soon to do “rescue operations.”  I'll believe it when I see it.  I'm just nervous that they may decide that there isn't anyone worth saving and bomb the town into oblivion.  I know there are others left here.  I wonder what happened to Tim.
We also took a stock of our weapons. We have plenty of ammo left provided that we don't get swarmed by zombies or raiders.  The town is eerily quiet, no shooting, no sirens, nothing.  Occasionally I'll hear a moan from the roof top but that's about it.  I guess the main hoard has moved on to more populated areas, following the food I guess.
There really isn't much more to say today and I'm so exhausted that I can barely write.  Sleep is important, staying awake and alert will save your life out here.  God I hope the army comes soon.
Part 10. Ending is coming soon.

I'll never be able to walk in Home Depot again without thinking, 'this place would totally rock in the event of a zombie apocalypse". :D Love it!
